A new study shows that doctors, on average, interrupt a patient in the first 18 seconds to give their diagnosis. Another study shows that 15% to 20% of the time, the initial diagnosis is wrong. The doctor's office of today is more of a factory; "treat 'em and street 'em" is the mantra. Doctors, and pharmacists, tend to stick with the first diagnosis and are hesitant to admit that they were wrong.
