Hamsters are soft and tender animals and they require some kind of soft cover on the floor of the cage to act as bedding material. Over the years, different kinds of materials have been used as hamster bedding including cardboard, old newspapers, wood shavings, corn cob and cloth, but a lot of them have been dropped because of their inherent disadvantages.
